The things that mineplex should do:

Discussion in 'Server Discussion' started by TalkToTransformer, Nov 21, 2019.

  1. The things that mineplex should do: [1] - Make switching from ssh/chrooted to open ssh/chroot from options menu optional [2] - Adopt better load balancing in the one-way-forward service that drops traffic when ip addresses are added [3] - Improve logging for failures - Reply to log messages (options > log) instead of the previous application handling log messages (useful for build systems) [4] - Adopt fix for a race condition with certificates requests and rebinding of existing keys - Define a consistent use of requests instead of methods from ge_pkt_send_request() to accept keys - Include a nice tutorial on how to do it (with notmuch with notmuch1 (.nbsk) users) Also, I have written it in its own file ge_pkt_http.c, so it's only need to be recompiled by user.

  3. Why should they do this exactly?
Because it is an open invitation to everyone else in the world to download the same work without permission. It encourages piracy, copying, and interference with other developers. If they wanted to add a walled garden to an entire program, they could do a much better job of it than simply selling it for copyright-free. If they want to keep it locked, or at least so restrictive that many other people will not be able to build on top of it, they could do better by selling it with the promise of unlocking it.

Worse, the infringement is designed to happen after a user has paid. That is a sad outcome for game developers, who normally earn their living from games not sold through the mail. It may also encourage users to put anything they are not paying for through the mail. No customer is perfect, but paying for games should
