Introduction Hello and welcome to the encyclopedia of events! If you’re unfamiliar with the events we host across the Mineplex network, you’ve come to the right place! Created and hosted by the Community Management and Event Assistance teams, events allow you to hang out with other community members, and most importantly, have fun! This thread should cover all of the topics, but if you have any questions or concerns, feel free to contact us. Information About Events The term “Event” is pretty broad, as it should be. Community Management & Event Assistance host a variety of different events all over the network. Most of our events are hosted in-game on the Java event server which gives us access to special permissions that allow us to put unique and fun twists on the games you love playing regularly. For example, we have permissions to give out items, spawn mobs, give effects, the list goes on! Another platform where we host events is the forums! You may see us occasionally appear in the Community Hosted Events section where we post our forum events that usually last around 2 weeks. Each forum event has its own theme and you can win prizes by completing the activity that is provided in the thread. We really enjoy hosting these events because it allows us to interact with a different side of the community and it’s a lot different from the events we usually host. Bedrock is another platform where you might see events once in a while! While we do not have the same possibilities as on Java, we’re still looking to host smaller hangouts and casual events for the Bedrock community. We also host events on the Mineplex Discord! During these events, we’re usually in EVENT-1 while also talking to you guys in the MPD. Community interaction is very important to us and using Discord allows us to connect with you guys on a more personal level! Events will be hosted 1-3 times per month, depending on how much preparation they require. We’ll also start hosting tournaments a few times a year to fill in the gaps! Prizes Information Prizes are given to players who are eligible and can range from cosmetics to chests! These prizes will always be applied after the event so if you haven’t received your prize in 72 hours, feel free to contact a community manager! Feedback & Suggestions Want to give us feedback or an event suggestion? If so, submit this form! Event Assistance Information If you’re interested in helping community management host events, event assistance (EA for short) might be the team for you! This team is responsible for helping the Community Managers with preparing & hosting events across the Mineplex network. As part of EA, you’re also able to create and host your very own events for everyone to enjoy. For this, you’ll be given your personal event server where you will have access to all the special commands you know from EVENT-1: giving items, spawning mobs, you name it! Events created by EA can be anything from a short, exciting storyline event to new and unique event maps, which you’ll have the chance to build and test on our team-exclusive build server. In other words: You’ll be in charge of whatever happens, so feel free to go wild! On top of that, you’ll have the opportunity to work in a collaborative and welcoming environment where you can meet new people & have a fun time! Event Assistance Requirements & How to apply Event Assistance is a community+ subteam, meaning that anyone can become part of the team! You can apply for event assistance when applications are open at https://www.mineplex.com/eventassistance/. In order to apply you will need: - At least 2.1 days in-game time (50 hours) - To be registered on our website for at least 1 month - An extensive event history - make sure you attend events regularly! - A working microphone because you have to be able to communicate during events. There’s also an interview during the application process so you’ll need it for that too. Event Assistance Quota Event Assistance has a flexible and soft quota to make sure we can continue to host high-quality events. As an Event Assistant, you’re expected to help Community Management with preparing and hosting one event every month. This equates to two hours of hosting, and about one hour of preparation per month. Preparation can be anything from coming up with ideas, building/testing maps, preparing storylines, helping organize events and more. You can pick whichever suits you best, for example, you wouldn’t be required to build maps if you dislike that! Conclusion That pretty much sums up everything you need to know about Events & our team! If you guys have any questions or concerns, feel free to contact a Community Management member.
