Resetting the password isn't necessarily the difficult part here, though. The real challenge is getting someone to do it, because only few of the server's administration team are able to.

If you've been around these parts for a while, you won't be surprised to hear that there has been no effort made from ownership's side, however. Hence why new channels/profiles are being created instead of even trying to recover the existing ones.

That's the idea. They won't supersede the official profiles, they're brand new community-driven accounts.

There are obvious advantages to this. SM will have full control over the accounts, so you can expect actually engaging content instead of skin pack advertisements.
