Seaside Map Submission (Minestrike)

Discussion in 'Build Showcase' started by A_Platypus, Nov 4, 2019.

  1. Over the past couple days I have been working on replicating the map Seaside from CS:GO for Mine-strike and am looking for some feedback regarding aesthetics and game-play.
Half of the map is situated over a dock, so there were several locations on the map that I had to modify in order to eliminate the water hazards (areas in which the player can walk off the map into the water).

Below are links to screenshots that I took of the map and posted on Imgur (there are around 50 of them):

    Flyover: https://imgur.com/a/2VJkcI0

    Barriers: https://imgur.com/a/ewaFyuO
Screenshots from CS:GO for comparison: https://imgur.com/a/97MWYTa

    Final note:
I managed to eliminate all water hazards, but there are several fences in which the bomb could be thrown over top of. Since other maps contain obstacles that the bomb can be thrown on top of, I decided that this wasn't a significant enough issue to make me change it, as doing so would sacrifice the aesthetics of the map anyways. However, I would love to hear what others think about it.

  2. Heyo!

This is a fantastic map and I really like what you have done with it so far. I love the theme you're going for, a dock/pier almost and you've done a great job of bringing that theme to life. I love the structures you made as well! I really don't have anything I would change.

  3. I absolutely love this! Your attention to details really shows in the images you've provided. I matched a few pictures together for a side-by-side comparison and I can tell that you spent a lot of time working on the map to make sure everything was as close to scale as possible. Your barrier placement is also well done, keeping players from getting into areas that should be off limits. Best of luck with the map submission!

  4. Hey there!

As an avid Minestrike/CSGO player, I definitely approve of this map! Great job changing everything over to Minecraft form, and it looks like a fun map to play on! We haven't had a new map on Minestrike in a long time so I appreciate you taking the time to create this map. I wish you the best of luck on your submission!
