I highly doubt any source code would be released unfortunately so if nothing keeps happening I highly suggest you just move on. Things haven't been that great on the network for years now and it's sad to see a server that many people care/d about go down this way. Personally I plan to stick around until Mineplex's end as I've made some good memories here and met some great friends, but otherwise I've been focusing on completely different things. I don't find the need to dwell on what's happening anymore because the future is pretty clear and all complaining or pondering about it does is waste time I could otherwise be using for things that matter to me in the present. But it's definitely been a good ride albeit an unfortunate one and I'm thankful for everything I've gotten out of my time here.

I don't assume they'd sell any IP/server/code given that bedrock still exists. They'll ride the bedrock wave. I'm assuming that platform still has a few years. Eventually I'd like to see some of the become IP sold or public so that many of the games we once played as kids can be remade for communities.

 

Don't worry bedrock is in even worse of a shape than java. Sure, it gets more players, and yeah, it might last longer, but it definitely won't last a few more years. If it does, then it will be just like java mineplex has been these recent years, infested with tryhards. No man's land to put it lightly

 

It's a shame that Mineplex has to come to an end but I'm grateful for all the friendships and wonderful memories that I've made on here thus far. Thanks for everything folks.

If the clock does somehow start rolling backwards, it would truly be a sight to see. From the update wonderment back in December to this server mayhem just a month later is shocking to say the least but without a developer and direction from owners, this will definitely be the end of a magnificent era.

In discord it is noted that most of the Java server addresses are currently fully down due to login issues, but it seems they will be up again soon (if you want to play, try using the clans.mineplex.com address for now). As for the website, the Java player count has been broken for a month or so. Although it is not going great for Mineplex at the moment, the server has not officially closed (and if it did a dev would make a public announcement). Have a good one!

 

I really hope this isn't the end. It deserves a better send off.
