Okay boys and girls this is my REAL plan to make Assassin viable! Let me know what you think!!!!!!!!! Assassin Reintroduce new "Stealth" passive. Introduce ability "Warp" to enhance sneaking up potential and endgame viability. Assassin Passive: Backstabber Attacking enemies from behind deals +2 damage and no knockback. Passive: Stealth Cannot be tracked by other players. Passive: Swift Strike Your first melee attack will grant Speed 1 for 3s. Bonus goes into cooldown upon taking melee damage. 15s cooldown. Swift Strike will go into cooldown automatically upon receiving melee damage. This means, whether the passive was active or not, it'll go into cooldown. The purpose of adding this is to attempt to shake up the meta by adding the element of Speed into a kit! I've balanced Swift Strike so that you're only able to capitalize off the buff if you don't get hit. Basically it's high-skill high-reward.
Hey Aaron! I don't think you actually stated what "Warp" was in this post? I love the idea of reintroducing "Stealth", but IMO it would work best as a solo passive ability. It could contain these perks: Stealth Cannot be tracked by other players using a compass Nametag is not visible from a range greater than 8 blocks Takes 40% less fall damage Quieter footsteps I don't agree with Backstabber dealing no knockback, however. Players with a higher ping would likely be lagged back / become blockglitched when chased, which would allow the Assassin chaser to land more hits with backstab - which ALREADY deals +2 damage. Swift Strike is an interesting concept, but I don't believe that any sort of speed boost would go down well in SG. I could be wrong, though. Might be worth a vote. We could maybe combine Backstabber and Swift Strike together, and create... Blindsided Attacking enemies from behind deals +2 damage (10s cooldown) Your first hit from behind will deal Blindness for 2s (25s cooldown) Assassin is based around sneaking up on & disorienting the enemy. I believe that Assassin, with Stealth & Blindsided as it's abilities, could finally become a kit to revival the likes of Axeman, Knight, and Barbarian.
Warp is removed as it's OP. Speed 1 isn't unbalanced at all. Swift Strike was balanced so that it wouldn't be too great but still shine. Wasn't keen on Backstab idea.
