Are there no developers for the bedrock version of mineplex?

I think im starting to realize what the problem is. Gyroninja is listed as the only bedrock developer. His last post was made july 5th 2021, ever since then he hasnt posted anything on the mineplex website. it also says "Last Activity: January 10th 2022" thats over a year ago. Despite of all of all of that hes still listed as developer.

is that why nothing is changing in survival mode? because it seems to me that the developer quit and now no one wants to take responsibility. if nothing changes mineplex bedrock is gonna die.

so heres my advice, im not a game developer but i dont think this would take long. reset survival mode, remove the plugins added by gyroninja back in 2021, let the community have fun again. to me that seems pretty simple, and dont come around arguing that survival mode full of illegals and griefers would shine a bad light on mineplex. it never has in the past, if anything, the current situation is a lot worse, having checked earlier standing at 17 players online. used to play when it was at 1000.

I don't see how removing what gyro did will help in anyway. Same with focusing on survival which seems to be your focus.

 

i only talked about survival. anything else i dont care about.

 

Heya- the reason why Gyro is listed as the only bedrock developer is because he IS the only Bedrock developer. Currently the server as a whole- Bedrock, Java, Forums and Discord has zero actively paid developers. We haven't had a website developer or a discord bot developer for well over a year now. Gyro has been inactive since the beginning of the year for the most part- I've had him reset survival a few times but there have been no major updates. It's up with the owners to hire new devs and we've all pretty much come to the consensus that we're 90% sure thats not going to happen, especially any time soon.

Survival is honestly the least of my concerns for the server, I never really understood the point of having a minigame of the vanilla base game in a server- especially a worse version. I 100% believe that survival should be removed all together, but without any dev to do that- or to fix it for that matter- all we can really do is watch things slowly burn.

You're welcome to forward bugs and downed servers with a bug report, but theres not much you can do outside of that.

 

Well guess what? Nobody cares about survival either! Why do you guys put so much wasted time and effort into playing survival on a server where everything is laggy and claimed, with so much blocks missing? The experience is awful. Why not go on a normal survival world where it is 10x better? Survival on Mineplex is rubbish and I'm glad that the game is far from being the top priority, because to me it is nothing but a waste of server storage

easy for someone to say who hasnt experienced it, i will never understand why people play minecraft pvp all day but that doesnt change the fact that they do. i personally had a lot more fun on mineplex survival mode than anywhere else minecraft related so no need to get disrespectful

 

I've experienced survival and I don't want to play it ever again. It is the worst game on the server by a long shot, and if I really want to play survival I'll go on a normal survival world. Also, Minecraft pvp all day? Do you know me personally? No, you don't. I have barely played Mineplex over the last few months and that includes pvp, so stop assuming. I'm not being disrespectful either, I'm trying to save your sanity and give a valid reason as to why the game is terrible, so take what I said as advice buddy

 

The experience consists of absolutely nothing functioning.
Want to break blocks? Sorry you're only going to receive about half of the ones you broke and there's going to be a 10 second delay on the servers end after you broke it.
Want to craft? Oops you can't do that without the majority of the items disappearing and not coming back.
Want to build here? Oh sorry that land is claimed despite being in the middle of no where.
Mineplex survival is objectively a bad experience. No one can look at this and say "yeah that's alright"
Yes, you can have fun with whatever you want but I seriously don't understand the fun in a laggy and completely dysfunctional version of something that already exists in the vanilla game with a lot more features and less nonsense that doesn't work in the slightest.
That's not to say every other game in Mineplex is good because that's far from true, but I'm always surprised by just how bad survival is when I go check it every few months (if I can even get in)

 

Personally, I think they should hire my friend Steven to be a developer. He is great with programming and he would be able to fix all these server issues at super sonic speed!

 

I reckon my buddy Eric would be a good addition as well.

Just to make this post somewhat constructive - so what I'm reading here is that Bedrock games aren't being developed / bugfixed at all? Shouldn't that mean the end of the partnership with Microsoft, or do they just not care either?

 

Mineplex pay a certain amount of money to Microsoft over a certain period of time which would have been in the contract. From both being a featured server, which is ofc a fixed cost, and then variable costs through purchases made on Mineplex. So no, Microsoft don't care. Do you know what Microsoft are like? They are very similar to the owners here in the aspect that they really like money. If Microsoft are still earning money then they couldn't care less about how the server does in terms of updates, and tbf I don't blame them, it isn't their job to care about Mineplex, they just collect money like the government does with tax lol. Also about bedrock games not being updated that is very true. The last content update we had was July 2021, and ever since we have had a few maps and that is it, not even a Christmas update. In retrospective we have been treated horribly compared to you guys on Java lol

 

I didn't know about the payments that go to Microsoft (although it makes sense that they would be part of the deal), and yeah, Microsoft has its share of controversies, and is one of the world's largest corporations after all. No update whatsoever for a year and a half is really bad though. Back when I was last active on the server for a longer period of time, some 3 years ago, the moderate success of Bedrock was seen as the sole reason Java could even continue to exist. I had also heard speculations of Java shutting down but Bedrock staying up like what Hive did. I suppose now that isn't likely to happen either.

Yep, feeling for you. Whereas you still have a semi decent amount of players, it's no good when there's absolutely no work being done.

 

They said that the bedrock server was the one keeping java mineplex alive, well, I'm not too sure anymore. I don't think either of the 2 servers are keeping one another alive, they're both dying. In 2021 the bedrock server could still pull over 10k players, but these days it is hard to pull even 5k lol. It sucks for sure but I've mostly moved on from the server myself, and I play other games instead which are worth my time

 

Lets just admit survival aint the thing that it was before. Now its just a dying laggy mess and honestly, since the player count is already dying, i dont even think a wipe would help. The only smart solve to this would be deletion since, to be fair, things didnt get fixed at the right time and the result is a game on the edge of having less than 50 people.

Welcome to the Mineplex forums! This is the place where a lot of Mineplexians send their suggestions and feedback for the server, which will never be looked at by a developer(+). So that means it won’t change anything. You can still enjoy the server with buggy gamemodes and more!

I think the disrespectful part was referring to my first post but ye the pvp allday is not my thing, this server is rubbish and I can barely stand even 30 minutes on it lol
