Are skeleton and zombie better than spider if played perfectly?

  1. It had generally been a consensus for awhile now that spider is the best kit at the highest skill level.

    But say for instance a zombie or skeleton had near perfect aim, wouldn't they be able to always keep the spider away? If skilled enough they could potentially be impossible to approach. This would take a higher level of skill than what anyone has currently but theoretically it could be done.

  2. Technically at perfect play Spider could also just climb cancel or jump cancel all arrow kb.

  3. A game between two perfect players would probably end in the spider winning, spider seems to have an overarching advantage with it better movement ability, reach advantage in melee, and shorter cool downs.

  4. since we're assuming these players are god's gift to ssm he would also have access to needler kb cancel

  5. Actually since skeleton has no wall climb cancel all it can do is jump cancel, which will not bypass a multihit projectile. Besides, spider's kb canelling is more relevant since the op mentions skeleton being able to keep spider away using the arrow kb. Even if we assume that skeleton can somehow cancel all kb as well as spider (it can't), skeleton would still be slower mobility wise which would make it easy prey for the spider. Not to mention spider would have perfect spin webs and a projectile of its own to deal with skeleton.

  6. If you perfectly jump cancel the last hit of a multihit it works fine, and assuming TAS-like play it would certainly be possible

    Spider would definitely run over Skeleton. Zombie I think has some more potential since it has more raw damage output, but Spider is still probably at a slight advantage assuming 100% perfect play from both players. Spiders mobility lets it force things that simply arent possible to any other kit (besides Wolf or like, Squid with SS arguably)

    At the end of the day though, doesn't really matter. Discussions on 'theoretically perfect play' aren't something that matter to real play and optimization. Questions like these come up every once in a while, but ultimately are just a fun thought experiment more than a serious inquiry.
